The Blackpool Area’s Leading Neuro Physiologist

Our clinics in Lytham and Preston often receive inquiries from prospective patients who are interested in how we differ from physiotherapy, and osteopathic and chiropractic clinics around the Blackpool area. Here are some of their most frequently asked questions.

Backprakt Q&A

How can Backprakt help me?

If you’re in or around the Blackpool area and suffering from back pain, nerve pain, sciatica or sports injuries, then there’s a good chance that a Backprakt neuro physiologist can assist you. We help patients suffering from trapped nerves, RSI, aches and stiffness, shoulder and neck pain, muscle pain, lower back pain, tinnitus, fibromyalgia, migraine, sciatica and all types of sports injuries. Our team also assist clients suffering from Parkinson’s, tremors and similar neuro muscular conditions.

What makes us special is we don’t rely purely upon pharmaceuticals. Instead, our founder Dr Logan uses holistic therapies, spinal and joint manipulation, rehabilitation exercises, functional movement analysis, ultrasound treatment and nutritional plans to help provide long-term relief to patients.

Is Dr Logan an osteopath, physiotherapist or chiropractor?

None of the above; he is a neuro physiologist specialising in neuromuscular conditions, gait, flexibility and pain relief. He aims to promote healthy lifestyles and help patients get a handle on their particular problem.

While some conditions can be remedied once and for all, others are trickier. Educating patients around the Blackpool area on how to live with their condition, avoiding inflaming or agitating it and gradually improving it is a big part of Dr Logan’s focus.

Does Dr Logan fill the same role as an osteopath, physiotherapist or chiropractor?

No, his approach is unique and incorporates neurology. This is part of the reason why our clinics, situated close-by Blackpool, are as popular as they are. Many patients find relief and remedy they’ve been unable to find with traditional physiotherapy or a chiropractor through our therapies.

What professional background does Dr Logan have?

Dr Jim Logan studied at the University of St Andrews before moving to Ireland to join the NUI Galway’s Medical Faculty, researching new treatments as a neuro physiologist. For over 30-years, Dr Logan has delivered lectures on physiology, neurosciences, clinical methods, ethics and law to medical students and fellow health practitioners.

In 1976, the London Hospital Medical College appointed him as a teaching staff member. It was here he established the first gait analysis laboratory. He went on to work as a Consultant Physiologist, tasked with delivering his opinion on specific cases and claims to lawyers and major insurance companies.

Back in 1995, Dr Logan was made the Dean of the University of Wolverhampton, leading the development of a post-graduate medical program. He founded Backprakt in 2007, which has proven a massive success and one of the Blackpool area’s leading therapeutic clinics. Backprakt utilises orthopaedic testing, neurology, physiological assessment, medical imaging and gait analysis to assist patients in need of pain relief.
